Living in Poverty? Dont pay Student Loans!

Federal student loan repayment has a new amendment! Effective as of last Wednesday, if you are living withing the poverty level, you do not have to make any federal student loan payments! This is very good news for all of my fellow Michiganders looking for a job; fresh out of college, living with the folks, and without any opportunity to pay back loans and party on the weekend.

According to the US Census Press, about 9.8 percent (7.7 million) of the nation’s families were in poverty in 2006. “Single borrowers who earn less than $16,245 — the poverty level — would not be required to make any payments on their federal loans as long as their income remained that low.”

I still have to look into the interest rates on these loans(and see if they are still pumping the juice). But making a conscious decision to travel the world and live off a meger income in now a reality. TRAVEL, dont worry about your loans; see the world, ENJOY LIFE, before you have to get a job.
